And I still can see Blue Velvet through my tears

Todays OOTD is this gorgeous blue velvet dress that has been sent to me by the lovely people at ARK  Before I picked this dress I had always had this idea that wearing a velvet dress would drive me mad and rise up, but I was completely wrong, this dress sits perfectly fine! I love this dress, the peter pan collar makes it super cute and I think adds a retro feel to it. Jewel blue is always a favourite colour of mine, I always find it really suits my pale skin and dark hair and is really on trend at the moment.  I've styled it with tights and boots but it could easily be worn for a night out, especially around the festive season. I think my 60's beehive really makes it look more glamorous!

Million Carat gift set

Is this a beauty post you see, here on a design rookie? Yep it sure is, and I have been intending to start dabbling in it. This post is to share with you this amazing FREE gift from Boots when you spend £15 on L'oreal make up. It seems a lot of the brands are doing this with boots right now. It's great because the gift is worth £28 and includes full size products, you could keep it for yourself or even give it as a christmas gift! I purchased my go to mascara, L'oreal million lashes and a new eyeliner so spent £16. In the set you get a nail varnish, rouge pin up, which I am yet to try but is the perfect festive colour! A Colour Riche lipstick 461 which is a gorgeous red with a slight shimmer, and looks like it is a perfect match to the nail varnish. I already use Colour Riche lipsticks and know they are great lipsticks so I am very pleased to be adding a new addition at such a bargain. The mascara is the Million Carat top coat, a very fine glitter mascara to use over your normal one. You can hardly notice until the light hits your eyelashes and I love it, its not real chunky so it looks really glamourous without looking cheap! The glitter is meant to be like a holographic style, but its more of an iridescent glitter, perfect for the party season or creating those dreamy winter eyes! Lastly you get a few skin care sachet samples and a £2.50 off voucher for the L'oreal true match foundation, which I have to say is a must if you are pale, it is one of my favourites!
I'm debating if I need to go back to Boots tomorrow and see what the other gift sets that you get free with the other brands are needed in my collection ;)

Pom pom garland DIY

Todays DIY is easy peasy and cost me £5 to make. It'll make a great gift for christmas but also a great decoration for the festive season or like I have done an all round pretty for my room!

You will need some pom poms, these pom poms are from Hobbycraft and are £4. Amaze colours!
You will also need some wool, and something to thread it, kids plastic sewing needles with large eyes are good, or tape it to a tooth pick or like I did I used a hair grip because I couldn't find my plastic needle!

Thread the pom poms onto the wool, I used nearly the whole pack. Once I'd threaded them all on I pushed them out and decided how close I wanted them to each other and how long I wanted it! Make sure to vary your order of pom poms! And thats it, simple as that! Cheap and quick and super pretty!

Baby its cold outside

Hands up if you think its an ice age outside? I sure do! The lovely people at Ark Clothing sent me this parka, and I absolutely love it. I'd been looking for one for ages, I actually have a mental catalogue of all the parkas on the hight street (tried every one on at least twice) and none of them are as thick as this one. Its got a fur hood and a fur lining near the zip so when its open you can see the fur. I also like the draw strings make it tighter around the waist, being small means coats can swamp me! I teamed it with a checkered scarf  from good old Primark (slowly starting to like tartan) and some boots I call my Mary Poppins boots from the Generation range at Newlook. I love the generation range for boots and pumps because they're more narrow being for teens, which is great for my skinny feet!

So I mentioned in my last post I wanted to vlog, and I've done my first one! Its an ootd one to go with this post, have a watch, subscribe to me and let me know what you think whilst I go hide behind my pillow and cringe at it!

They're cute aren't they?

Jake is the one on top and Berty is obviously the one underneath, and no they are not beagles they're Basset Hounds, and they're funny little buggers!  Anyway I just thought I would pull you in with a cute photo of my dogs, because the topic I actually want to post about doesn't have a photo, and everyone loves cute dog photos, and I bet it made you read this!

I am going to do hair/make up tutorials, style videos and craft diy ones, but to start with I reckon I should do a hello video first and ease you in to my strong Hull accent! So please could you guys give me some questions I could answer, I'd really appreciate it and you'll get to know me better as I have never posted a video not even a quick instagram one! So shoot away! Plus any tips you have would be great!

Anyway I have new stock! yey! I've been sketching away to create more stock for my etsy store, I have cute brooches to cute pug earrings that start from £4. I have also added new characters in my little portraits range, I jsut love woodland animals, don't you? The sweet tooth range has seen some new additions, the super cute macaroon necklaces are only £7 and the midget gem ring is only £5. If you love the macaroons as much as I do, you'll be pleased to know I will have some macaroon rings made soon, complete with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle and slices of fruit!

DIY Floral letter

Hello everyone, and hello to all the new followers we have! Todays DIY is a really pretty one its quick and costs less then £10. This floral letter would be great for a christmas present or at a wedding, imagine it in a MR & MRS!

You will need
1) flowers (mine are from Dunelm)
2) foam block for artificial flowers (The Range)
3) Paper mache letter (Hobby craft)
4) Wire cutters
5) Scalpel

1) With a Scalpel cut the front of the letter off and fill it with pieces of the foam block, it doesnt have to be super neat

2) Cut the flower heads off leaving a short stem

   3) Poke the stem into the foam and start adding more flowers, mixing the colours up. Once you start adding more it helps to cut the stems a little varied, it helps the flowers to sit together easier

And thats it, simple as that! Its just a case of having a play with what looks best. I would love to know if you have a go!

Snow white

The lovely people at Bank Fashion sent me this gorgeous white dress. The dress is really floaty and layered, which I love, it kind of has a whimsical feel to it. As someone with pale skin I always feel white can easily wash you out, but this doesn't at all. I wore a black bow, black heels and dark gothic red lipstick to actually emphasize and clash with the white dress and my pale skin. The dress has a lovely beaded detail around the neck line which means you don't need many accessories, it also has pockets which give it a more casual feel. It's nice to find something that could be worn for a meal but still worn for a night out and I love how it has a really innocent angelic look to it.

Washi tape diy phone case

Quick and easy DIY today, its pretty self explanatory this one. I bought a clear phone case off ebay for £2 to do something fun with, I decided to washi tape it (no surprise there) If you read my last post you will see I've been going a bit wild with the washi  tape lately! I bought this super cute pack of tape from Paperchase and had to have a go with that as well as using some I got whilst in Valencia. All you need to do is stick your tape on, making sure to cut the holes out for your camera etc, then seal it all with a few layers of PVA glue or something similar to stop it from peeling away, and voila a

A look into my room

I spend half my time buying pointless but pretty things for my room, things that others would normally walk by. I stand for ages rearranging my shelves and dressing table to get it looking perfect. I thought I would share aspects of my room with you! In the first few photos you can see a wooden frame with polaroids hanging; i have no idea what it's real purpose is. I found it in tkmax reduced and wanted it, I stood for ages deciding what I could use it for, I think it was meant for gardening. Nathan came up with the amazing polaroid idea and I've finally got round to it! The stamp in front of it is an amazing stamp I am yet to use, it has phrases on and the date, I cant wait to use it in my smash book! I'm obsessed with washi tape and have found displaying it in my room looks great and adds color. You can see I have washi taped a vintage camera to make it more interesting as well as using it to stick old cigarette cards and a cute vintage giraffe pin to my shelves. On the photo that shows two shelves there is some stripy cloth hanging at the side, this is a scarf I bought from Primark to use as kind of like a blind to hide my tall narrow dvd rack. A lot of the stuff on my shelves is stuff I've bought from carboot sales and vintage shops, theres nothing better then finding a little nick nack to add to the collection! Oh and I made the fox it is what started me off designing my animal jewellery! I still live at home, but look forward to the day I buy my own house to restore and decorate it because lets face it by the time that happens I will have bought enough pointless pretty nick nacks to decorate a whole house!
Hope you enjoyed the little look into my room!
Much Love
