Pink Lemonade

The sunshine has really inspired me to start eating more fruit and what better way to get more fruit but to make fruit cocktails! The cocktail I made today is a Pink Lemonade cocktail. All you need is, raspberries, sugar, raspberry and cranberry juice and lemonade. Put a handful of raspberries into a glass, for the jar I used about 7 raspberries, then using a wooden spoon mash the raspberries, then fill half the glass with the raspberry and cranberry juice and top with the lemonade. I finished mine with a raspberry  but you could use a slice of lemon. Putting simple fruit cocktails in jars like the one I used is a great way to dress up a simple recipe and would look great at a garden party!

Worldwide wardrobe 2013

Sightseeing in Paris

I've chosen to enter this fab competition by Travelsupermarket ( competition can be found here http://www.travelsupermarket.com/c/holidays/worldwide-wardrobe/ )  All you have to do is pick one of their listed destinations and create the perfect outfit with a budget of £200 for the chance of winning a holiday to the destination and the money to buy your outfit! Simple as that!

As you might have realised I am in love with Paris, so I had to chose "sightseeing in Paris" out of the five destinations. I've gone for a delicate, pretty, quirky outfit that not only fits in with the fashionable locals but is super comfortable and practical for sightseeing around Paris. I have chosen to team a gorgeous lace detail teal blouse from Topshop with a pink/orange skater skirt from Newlook, its elegant, pretty and sophisticated like many of the young women in Paris. To give it that quirky edge I've added some cool round reading glasses and pink bowler hat, as many women in Paris wear large glasses for that geek chic! The lomography dreamer diana camera from urban outfitters not only poses as a cool retro accessory to hang around your neck but also captures amazing photos with a vintage feel to the prints (yes actual real life film)  great for capturing all the sights in a unique precious way!  Converse was a no brainer, every where you look in Paris women have converse on, its that laid back effortless chic they have and not only that, but you spend hours walking around Paris and there is nothing comfier then Converse. No girl would be complete in paris without a slick of lipstick on, to  finish off a very natural look, minimum eye make up, perfect complexion and that pop of colour on the lips. The bag from Primark is a typical summer bag, and you need a big bag whilst in Paris to put all your maps, tourist books and journals in. Last but not least is a delicate gold bracelet, the parisians are not ones to pile on the accessories, they wear the odd feminine delicate piece, and what better way to finish off on outfit for Paris by wearing a delicate bracelet with the word love on, after all you are in the city of love!

My whole outfit comes to £173.96

This competition closes june so make sure you enter, even if you don't win, spending your night planning a dream outfit is always fun!

Barry M nail art pen review

I've been doing nail art since I was about 12, and have tried A LOT of techniques (I hate nail foils)  so the other week when I saw these Barry M nail art pens I thought "urghh" they're going to be those rubbish metal nibbed get clogged pens but no I was wrong! They are like felt tip pens, they are amazing! They come in 4 colours, pink, white, silver and black I bought them all except the silver. They are so easy to use because it is just like using a felt tip pen. You don't end up with big blobs coming out and you don't have to apply a lot of pressure to make them work. My hands were a bit shakey but you could only see it on my nails if you looked closely. One thing though is make sure you use a top coat because if not it will just rub off, and if you are nervous about using them try them on paper first. These are by far the easiest way to create your own nail art.

To get the look above all you need to do is paint a base coat, I used a barry m gelly one as the gelly ones always have a stronger pigment I think, then with the black pen randomly draw lines across your nails making sure some lines cross ( you can see this in the first pic ) then with the pink and white colour in some of the shapes that are created by the lines crossing, making sure you dont colour shapes next to each other in the same colour. If you wanted you could go back over it once its dried to create a stronger colour, as thats what I did. Then finish with a clear top coat to stop it rubbing off and voila that's it you have an eye catching design that is easy to do!
